Geelong star Dangerfield takes to the road for some mobile living

2019-04-18T13:38+10:00

Geelong star Patrick Dangerfield has taken to the road with his family for a brand new lifestyle show.

Mobile Living highlights the popular AFL personality exploring the best of the Great Ocean Road alongside wife Mardi, son George and parents Jeanette and John.

Developed by Dometic Australia in association with the Caravan Industry Association of Australia, Mobile Living focuses purely on the RV lifestyle, disconnecting from the loud noises of every day life and reconnecting as a family.

Head of Marketing at Dometic, Justine Schuller said, "We developed the show as we are deeply passionate about mobile living and committed to supporting the entire Australian RV Industry.”

“This project is specifically intended to assist with growth of the industry by appealing to a broad audience and encourage them to get involved in the RV lifestyle. We believe that all members of the industry should be working together to support overall growth and ensure sustainability into the future,” continues Justine.

Dometic, in conjunction with the Caravan Industry Association of Australia, wanted to create a ‘non-advertorial’ show that would remind viewers of the benefits of the touring lifestyle.

Stuart Lamont, CEO of Caravan Industry Association of Australia said, “Caravanning and camping provides the perfect avenue by which Australians can get away and reconnect with their family and friends, while refreshing the batteries from the ever demanding day-to-day life. To be able to capture Patrick as a person and his family spending time together, as well as integrating the many adventure activities which Patrick enjoys doing, showcases perfectly the great times that can be had while caravanning.”

This format has proven particularly appealing to Australia’s leading free-to-air network, Seven, with Mobile Living allocated the highly sought-after 5:30pm Saturday time slot, leading into the Saturday news.

Jason Volbeda, Programming and Communications Manager of Seven Melbourne, said it was a “privilege” to have Patrick Dangerfield and his family on board.

“When you add a host who happens to be an AFL superstar, accompanied by his wife, Mardi, and son, George, then you tick every family-friendly box on the checklist. That’s why we will primarily broadcast the show on Channel 7. It sits well on a Saturday afternoon just before 7 News at 6pm."

The first two episodes of Mobile Living with Patrick Dangerfield will air on May 4 and May 11 on 7Main in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth at 5:30pm, and on 7Prime Regional (in Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania) 5:30pm.

Tune in to Patrick Dangerfield and Aaron Habgood every Saturday morning at 7am AEST for Reel Adventures on 1116 SEN and syndicated across the country for Dometic.
