Adelaide assistant coach Scott Camporeale says Bryce Gibbs hasn't been “at the level” the club would like.
Gibbs was dropped to the SANFL last week instead of playing against North Melbourne which saw the 30-year-old play his first state league game since 2006.
Camporeale says Gibbs' below-par AFL form led to his omission and admits the coaching staff want to see quick improvement.
“Clearly he wasn’t at the level that we’d like him to be in a couple of areas and that’s been constant feedback for Bryce, not only in the first four weeks, also last year as well,” he told SEN SA Breakfast.
“We need to make sure, not just Bryce, but all the guys are playing to the level that we want them to do in all three phases.
“Bryce was very clear on that, he understood where we came from.
“We had conversations with him up to the point of his non-selection last week so he went back and improved on a couple of those things.”
Gibbs collected 28 disposals in his SANFL hit-out on the weekend, while his Crows teammate Hugh Greenwood gathered 33 disposals and kicked two goals.
Camporeale was really pleased with Greenwood’s game and says the club will weigh up whether he fits into this weekend’s side for Sunday's home clash with Gold Coast.

“Hugh finally played up to the level that we’d like him to do on the weekend,” he said.
“He had a slow pre-season so he’s been trying to gain AFL-level intensity.
“Most of you guys know the SANFL to AFL is quite a big jump so we’ve got to make sure those guys are ready to go.”
The Crows will take on the Gold Coast Suns on Sunday, a team which they’ve never lost against.
