Essendon forward Joe Daniher is a shock late inclusion for today’s Good Friday clash with North Melbourne.
Daniher, who has missed with a calf injury, will replace Zac Clarke in the side’s 22, after originally being slated to play VFL.
Clarke didn’t train during the week, according to AFL Media’s Mitch Cleary.
However, the AFL has stated they will fine the Bombers for making this change, given Daniher was not among their four emergencies selected for this game.
Aaron Francis, Kyle Langford, Brayden Ham and Sam Draper were originally listed as Essendon’s emergencies.
The match gets underway at 4:20pm today. David Zaharakis is reportedly also in doubt for the Bombers.
The AFL advises Essendon has included J. Daniher to replace Z. Clarke in its side for today’s match against North Melbourne. At the conclusion of Round Five, the AFL will issue a financial sanction to the Essendon FC for including a player outside its selected list on match day.
