Demons co-captain to undergo scans on shoulder

2019-04-25T07:39+10:00

Injury may have been added to insult last night - the Demons lost to the Tigers on the big stage, going 1-5 and looking likely to miss the finals, and co-captain Jack Viney may well miss games to injury.

The midfield bull copped a massive hip and shoulder from 18-year-old Tiger Sydney Stack, putting Viney down and leaving him clutching his right shoulder.

Watch the incident below:

"He'll be an assessment tomorrow so we'll have to look at that shoulder and some concussion stuff that we'll have to look at as well," Demons coach Simon Goodwin said post-match.

"He's pretty tough 'Vines' so we'll see how he pulls up."

The entire side will be licking their wounds, falling to Richmond without a whimper. The Demons kicked only two goals after quarter-time last night - a performance leaving Melbourne fans wondering what went wrong.

"I can understand why our members and supporters are disappointed – we're 1-5. No question," said Goodwin.

"But when you're in the position we've been in and playing the way we have been there were some signs tonight that we're coming out of some of that."

The Dees will look to bounce back against Hawthorn on May 4th.
