Collingwood defender Lynden Dunn wishes he had arrived at Collingwood ages ago, praising the club’s culture and energy.
Dunn, who has played 31 games with Collingwood after 165 with Melbourne, said he’s fallen in love with the club.
“I love Melbourne, I loved my time at the footy club, but coming to the Pies, the best way to describe it is I wish I had come to the Pies 10 years ago,” he told AFL Nation.
“That’s no disrespect to Melbourne, I just love the footy club so much and what our group’s got going at the moment.
“I’ve lived both sides of Collingwood. You either love them or you hate them. Hated them with a passion for a long time, but then when you’re on the inside it’s so bloody good.
“Every day coming to training it’s like coming to a local footy club except it’s the biggest club in the land. It’s a joy to come in every day and get around each other.”
Dunn is likely to miss the remainder of the 2019 season after tearing his ACL, but feels there’s still plenty of footy in front of him.
“I haven’t sat down with list management or anything, but I still feel I bring a lot to the table on and off the field,” he said.
“There’s a chance this could be my last year and I’ll never to get run out there with the boys again and if that’s the case I’m pretty comfortable within myself I’ve given my career everything I could’ve.
“I definitely feel if I get my knee right, which is going to happen this time, that I’ve got another two or three years of footy left in me. I’ve still got that burning hunger.”
