Adelaide confident star midfielder will face Lions

2019-05-12T09:50+10:00

Adelaide is confident that star midfielder Matt Crouch will be able to face Brisbane on Saturday.

Crouch was sidelined early in the third term of the Crows’ 20-point win over Port Adelaide in Showdown 46 last night.

Crows Science and Medical Services Coordinator Steve Saunders is optimistic about Crouch’s chances to play next weekend.

"Matt sustained a heavy contusion early in the game to his left hip," Crows Science and Medical Services Coordinator Steve Saunders told afc.com.au.

"He was able to continue for a period of time, but was then removed from play.

"We will reassess his progress tomorrow and plan his week's training from there.

"We expect him to make sufficient progress to be available for next week's game."

Before his injury, Crouch gathered 19 disposals, including 10 contested possessions.

The Crows will be aiming for their eighth consecutive win when they take on the Lions at the Gabba on Saturday.

They have not lost against Brisbane since Round 21, 2012.
