Port Adelaide are set to ditch the iconic prison bar jumper for its 150th anniversary next season, according to SEN SA host Dwayne Russell.
The Power will instead wear a blue and white horizontal hoop jumper that the club wore in its inaugural year in 1870.
Collingwood president Eddie McGuire recently advised Port on SEN SA Breakfast to “get creative” as the black and white colours are a “trademark” of the club.
“I’ve got it on reasonably good authority that Port Adelaide might not be wearing the black and white prison bar jumper next season to celebrate their 150th anniversary,” Russell told SEN SA’s Dwayne’s World.
“I’m told Port will confirm with the AFL this week when CEO Keith Thomas is in Melbourne, that it wants to wear the blue and white horizontal hoop jumper to celebrate its 150th year.
“The jumper it wore in 1870 – its first year of competition. According to that, we can forget the old black and white prison bar Collingwood clash.”
