2019-05-15T18:38+10:00

The A-League’s 12th club has been officially unveiled as Macarthur FC, who will enter the competition in the 2020/21 season.

Based in Sydney’s south-west, the A-League’s newest club will don black, gold and white colours, representing the area’s cultural diversity.

The logo includes a bull with three stars underneath, symbolising the A-League team, the affiliated National Premier League teams and football within the community.

Macarthur FC will play home games at Campbelltown Stadium.

The club also confirmed former Socceroos assistant Ante Milicic as their inaugural coach.

Milicic, the current coach of the Matildas, will remain in charge until the conclusion of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, before assuming his role as Macarthur boss.

“Being an expansion team and being given the opportunity to be the inaugural coach is something massive, just to be given the trust to take the team forward,” Milicic said.

“This is a great opportunity to come back home to come to an expansion club that has some really good plans and a lot of excitement around them.

“There’s a lot of positivity around and I really can’t look any further than that. It’s something I’m really pleased to be part of.”
