Geelong star Gary Ablett is in hot water for the third time this season after striking Gold Coast’s Anthony Miles late in the third term of the Cats’ 27-point over Gold Coast.
Ablett has been in trouble previously for two high hits - one to Essendon’s Dylan Shiel and the other against North Melbourne’s Sam Wright.
Ablett’s one-match suspension for the Shiel hit was reduced to a fine and he was cleared for his hit on Wright.
Speaking to Fox Footy after Geelong's win at Metricon Stadium, Ablett believed the hit was just a “little bit clumsy”.
“It seems to get built up every week ... obviously I was a little bit clumsy there and I gave away a free kick,” he said.
“It was just undisciplined. Obviously I’m disappointed with it, but just a free kick.”
