The AFL is set to invest a six-figure sum on the rebranding of the league’s logo, according to The Herald Sun.
A group of designers have begun brainstorming ideas to freshen up the logo that has been ever present since the turn of the century.
It’s seen as a way of aligning with the growth of the league over the last two decades.
Flexibility with colour coordination to accommodate new competitions such as AFLW and AFLX is a major attraction behind the move.
The expensive proposal was met with immediate criticism from Sydney champion Jude Bolton, who believes the money would be better spent elsewhere.
