Report: Bulldogs keen on star Eagles forward

2019-06-06T19:34+10:00

West Coast forward Jack Darling has emerged as a trade target for the Western Bulldogs, according to 6PR’s Kim Hagdorn.

Darling had a day out against the Bulldogs last week, booting six goals in the thumping 61-point win at Optus Stadium.

With youngster Aaron Naughton the current focal point up forward for Luke Beveridge’s side, Hagdorn says the addition of Darling would provide much-needed fire power in attack and allow Naughton to move back into defence.

“The Western Bulldogs will target a trump key forward so that Aaron Naughton can play more in defence,” Hagdorn said.

“It’s no coincidence that a big, strong West Coast Eagles key forward, who’s a restricted free agent at the end of next season, had a blow-out game against the Bulldogs last Sunday.

“The Western Bulldogs, for mine, will jockey to get into bargaining for Jack Darling. Jack Darling would be hot on someone’s radar.”

Darling, 26, is contracted to the Eagles until the end of 2020 and was a crucial member of the club’s premiership-winning campaign in 2018.
