“Their time is now”: AFL great believes Adelaide can make Grand Final

2019-06-12T14:28+10:00

Two-time Adelaide premiership coach Malcolm Blight says his former club has what it takes to make this season’s Grand Final.

The Crows jumped into fifth on the ladder after defeating flag fancies GWS last time out and are starting to find their groove entering the second half of the year.

If Don Pyke’s side can get their dangerous forward line up and running, they can cause some damage in the run home and during the finals series, according to Blight.

“If you look at the draw, I reckon they (Adelaide) can play in their second Grand Final in three years,” he told SEN’s Whateley.

“They’re the most experienced team – their time is now. They’ve got a lot of players at 29-30, this is most experienced team that I see.

“They’ve got them all back on deck and I think it’s time now. You can see the Collingwoods, you can see the Geelongs, you can see the Eagles … but this is the only time the Crows have got to actually do something with this group.

“The backline is very good, and they’ve got enough grunt around the middle with the Crouch boys and (Rory) Sloane. If they can get those pieces up forward, this is a super chance to finish off in a blaze of glory.”

Adelaide missed the finals last season after making the 2017 Grand Final.
