Emerging Crow attracting “serious interest” from Victorian clubs

2019-06-14T12:43+10:00

Adelaide defender Alex Keath is attracting “serious interest” from up to four Victorian clubs, according to AFL reporter Tom Morris.

Melbourne, St Kilda, North Melbourne and Carlton are all keen on luring the Crow back to Victoria, who remains uncontracted beyond this year.

Keath’s stocks have soared as a result of his break-out 2019 season, emerging as one of the best intercept defenders in the competition.

“There is serious interest in Alex Keath – and it’s not just Melbourne,” Morris told SEN SA’s Kymbo and The Rooch.

“St Kilda, North Melbourne and Carlton – they are all going to make a play for him if he hasn’t signed by the end of the year."

Morris says the quartet of Victorian clubs will be prepared to offer triple what the 27-year-old is currently earning at Adelaide.

“The Crows are well known for being quite strong on the bargaining table, they’re not going to give up more than what they think he’s worth,” he added.

“He’s been heavily underpaid through his performances so far this year, and there are clubs that will come for him and they will offer him triple what he’s on now.”

Keath has played 25 games for the Crows since he was signed as a Category B rookie in 2015.
