John Longmire's manager Liam Pickering says the Sydney Swans coach isn't interested in coaching North Melbourne at this stage.
Longmire is contracted with the Swans until the end of 2020 but is reportedly attracting significant interest from the Kangaroos.
Pickering says he hasn't heard anything from Sydney or North Melbourne regarding contract negotiations.
“Let me tell you this, without having spoken to John, or anyone at North for that matter since the weekend, I would be staggered if he was even jokingly drawn into a conversation about coaching North Melbourne,” he told SEN Breakfast.
“I’ve had nothing from Sydney and I’ve had nothing from North Melbourne.
“I’ve had discussions with Sydney, absolutely, about the fact that he’s their man and all that, which you’d expect.”
Although he hasn’t heard from North Melbourne, Pickering admits that the media speculation about the role may lead to a phone call.
“I’m reading all the newspapers, and I probably expect a call from them at some stage but I haven’t got that yet,” he said.
“We haven’t gone that deep into it. This is just noise to be honest.”
