SEN footy expert Terry Wallace is stunned by Port Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley’s decision to drop three senior players for the Power’s clash with Geelong tomorrow night.
Paddy Ryder, Justin Westhoff and Sam Powell-Pepper were all cut from the line-up, while Charlie Dixon, Ollie Wines and Brad Ebert came into the side.
Joel Garner was the other addition, replacing Jarrod Lienert.
Wallace says it’s brave to make such a tough call in preparation for a high-quality opponent in Geelong.
“I would’ve perhaps gone in with those couple of senior players and dropped a couple of the younger boys out of the line-up, who have done a good job, but just really had a crack at Geelong with a very senior side,” he told SEN's The Match Committee.
Wallace believes Ryder, Westhoff and Powell-Pepper may be reconsidering their options after their respective axings.
“Paddy Ryder would be saying get me out of here, that’s would he would be saying,” Wallace added.
“Justin Westhoff will be saying I sort of didn’t expect it to finish like this.
“Sam Powell-Pepper would be saying Western Australia looks okay.”
