West Coast bounced back from their blip against Sydney with a dominant 35-point win over Essendon to move back into the top four.
The score-line flattered the Bombers with the Eagles converting just 14 of their 36 shots at goal in a one-sided contest at Optus Stadium on Thursday night.
Dual North Melbourne premiership player David King believes the reigning premiers are back to their best and had key statistics to back up his claim.
“They’ve been awesome the Eagles … they’re back,” King told SEN’s Whateley.
“They’re a team that don’t rely on possession, it’s all about once they win it then turning that into a score.
“They’re the No.1 scoring team over the last month of football averaging 103 points and most of that from intercepts. They’re the No.1 scoring team in the competition from intercepts.
“64 points from intercepts, that’s a big number. The Eagles in the first six weeks were only kicking 71 points, that’s a five-goal improvement.”
Adam Simpson’s charges take on Hawthorn at the MCG on Saturday.
