Lions CEO admits key duo "unlikely" to face Port Adelaide

2019-07-09T12:35+10:00

Brisbane CEO Greg Swann has revealed star duo Eric Hipwood and Luke Hodge are in significant doubt to face Port Adelaide this weekend.

Hodge copped a heavy hit to the ribs from Giants forward Jeremy Cameron and played out the game sore.

Hipwood meanwhile suffered a knee injury early in the game and while he also continued playing, scans have revealed some minor damage.

“(Hipwood’s) a little bit like Hodgey, more unlikely than likely and it’s not too bad, the scans yesterday were had,” Swann told SEN Mornings.

“It’s not a major thing, it’s a minor tweak so he may miss, but he hasn’t ruled himself out, he’s pretty determined, Eric.

“The scans didn’t show a lot of damage, but he’s still a little bit sore and we’ll see how that goes at the end of the week.”

The Lions sit fourth on the ladder after 15 games with 10 wins. They picked up their biggest victory of 2019 so far last weekend, beating the Giants in Sydney by 20 points.
