Three-time All-Australian Nick Dal Santo isn’t sure whether Geelong has more upside to its game compared to their nearest rivals.
The Cats have been the benchmark throughout the home-and-away season, playing some scintillating football thanks to a revamped forward line structure.
Chris Scott’s side is the highest scoring team in the competition and also possess the meanest defence, conceding on average just 66.3 points per game.
“They have been clearly the most consistent team. I’m not sure how much upside they’ve got from here,” Dal Santo told SEN Breakfast.
“I’m ok with them having a bit of a down period as they build back up for finals. The only way that I can see teams catching them is if they need to improve.
“There’s three, four or five other clubs that I think have more upside from here because they’re not playing at their peak at the moment.
“The Cats have been really, really good for the majority of this year.”
Geelong have lost two of their last three games and will look to bounce back against struggling St Kilda at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday night.
