Collingwood midfielder Taylor Adams has made a successful return in the VFL and was best on ground to three quarter time against Williamstown.
Adams has only managed five games this season so far with adductor issues holding him back, but he looks set to make his return to the side next week.
He finished with 16 disposals and eight tackles across three quarters, before sitting out the remainder of the game.
Unfortunately for the Pies, Adams being rested lined up with Williamstown taking the lead in the final term and walking away eight-point victors.
Matt Scharenberg finished with 16 disposals and eight marks, while Tyson Goldsack had 21 and six tackles.
The loss sees the Pies a game and nearly 30 per cent outside of the VFL top eight, while Williamstown moves to third on the ladder with nine wins.
