Fevola's Macca's fuelled footy rampage

2019-07-17T12:30+10:00

Brendan Fevola is undoubtedly one of the more colourful stars to grace an AFL ground this century.

Often controversial but always entertaining, Fevola was never too far away from a story during his career.

Fevola was interviewed by Bob Murphy on Fox Footy’s Bob and in amongst the raw stories surrounding his issues off the field was a classic tale about his time with Casey Scorpions.

“I was playing VFL, I didn’t really care too much, but I was having fun,” Fevola said.

“I’m in McDonald’s on the way to a game to get a McChicken and Ratts (Brett Ratten) was on SEN.

“They were saying ‘Fev’s playing Northern Blues today, how do you think he’ll go?’

“He goes ‘He won’t get a kick. Jamo’s (Michael Jamison) been training for a long time.’

“I had about four bites of the McChicken, wrapped it up, put it back in the bag and said, ‘I’m on,’ and that was it, I didn’t eat the rest of the McChicken.”

As the story unfolds it’s clear that regardless of his fitness levels throughout his career, Fevola was always motivated to succeed when playing footy.

He added: “Three-quarter time, I walk past the huddle and there’s all the boys I played footy with at Carlton. Jamo comes up to me and says ‘I’m done for the day, I’m only playing three quarters.’

“I said ‘Thanks for the confidence.’

“I’d kicked 10 at that stage.

“I thought I’ve got my mojo back; I didn’t even finish my McChicken.”

Fevola ended that day in 2011 with 10 goals as Casey won by exactly 100 points with 'Fev' showing his former teammates exactly what they were missing out on.
