Season over for luckless North Melbourne mid

2019-07-17T16:14+10:00

North Melbourne midfielder Ben Jacobs will miss the remainder of the season as he looks to overcome an ongoing health issue.

Jacobs has battled concussion symptoms and hasn’t played since Round 16, 2018 and will now be given additional time to get himself right for next pre-season.

The 27-year-old, who is contracted for another year, outlined his road to recovery since suffering whiplash in a sling tackle in Round 11 last season.

“My body hasn’t been battered and bruised too much … I feel like I have plenty to give,” Jacobs told nmfc.com.au.

“We treated it like a concussion for the first four or five weeks … (then) I had a sinus operation … and I burnt a nerve off in my neck.

“It could be an accumulation of a lot of things."

Jacobs has played 90 games in the blue and white since debuting in 2011.
