Richmond star updates teammates on comeback plans

2019-08-07T16:37+10:00

Richmond’s Alex Rance has reportedly shelved plans to return to the footy field this season.

Rance, who suffered a serious knee injury in March, has been training hard in a bid to pull off a miracle comeback during the Tigers’ finals campaign.

However, the Herald Sun’s Mick Warner has reported that Rance has informed his teammates that the attempted return has not fully gone to plan and will now be aborted.

The five-time All-Australian ruptured his ACL in Round 1 and underwent a knee reconstruction. He will now focus on returning for the opening match of 2020.

Richmond’s defence has performed more than admirably in Rance’s absence with the Tigers currently sitting fourth on the ladder ahead of Sunday’s clash with Carlton at the MCG.
