There are two major suitors in the race for Alan Richardson according to a report in the Herald Sun.
It is understood that North Melbourne and Melbourne are leading the way for the former St Kilda coach.
Richardson, who departed his role with the Saints in July, is keen to return to coaching but not in a senior capacity and has been sounded out by a number of clubs in recent times.
The 54-year-old reportedly met with the GWS Giants while Gold Coast were also interested.
New Kangaroos coach Rhyce Shaw is keen to have some experience around him and could use Richardson in a mentoring role within his coaching staff in 2020 and beyond.
Simon Goodwin is freshening up his coaching look at the Demons after parting ways with Brendan McCartney and Craig Jennings with the club seeking to utilise Richardson’s background in development programs.
