Report: Hawks veteran linked to Brisbane move

2019-08-16T16:21+10:00

Hawthorn ruckman Jon Ceglar could be on the move at the end of the season, with Brisbane reportedly interested in acquiring him.

AFL Media is reporting that the out of contract 28-year-old is looking for greater opportunities, having been stuck behind Ben McEvoy for his tenure at the Hawks.

Brisbane ruckman Stefan Martin re-signed with the club earlier in the year on a one-year deal, while the club is confident Archie Smith can be a long-term player.

Ceglar isn’t the only Hawk linked with a move out of the club, however.

The Herald Sun is suggesting the likes of Shaun Burgoyne, Isaac Smith, Paul Puopolo and Grant Birchall are in the sights of Gold Coast.

The Suns are looking to add some veteran experience and it has previously been reported that they have thrown a four-year deal at Burgoyne. Two as a player and two as a coach.

Hawthorn president Jeff Kennett today suggested members should brace for a few club champions heading out the door at the end of the season.

Four-time premiership forward Jarryd Roughead has retired and will play his final game on Sunday against the Suns.
