Will the Blues play finals in 2020?

2019-08-17T12:48+10:00

Kane Cornes believes Carlton is a team heading in the right direction after the appointment of David Teague to the full time coaching role.

The Blues have finished the year strongly under the former forward line coach and Cornes believes they could be in the finals mix in 2020.

“I’m confident in the way forward,” he told SEN’s Crunch Time.

“I know having spoken to Phil Walsh about David Teague when he was at Adelaide, the buzz on him was huge back then.

“All the Adelaide players that you speak to, he was in charge of that magnificent 2017 forward line, so I think the history and the apprenticeship is there for Teague.

“I think the list is in really good shape so I’m confident (in Carlton).

“I wouldn’t be surprised if Carlton made finals next year, probably don’t expect them to win a final, but I think the rise can be, maybe not as rapid, but on the same path as Brisbane’s.”

The Blues take on St Kilda today at the MCG before wrapping up their season against Geelong in Round 23.
