Former Sydney co-captain Kieren Jack has announced his retirement after enduring an injury-plagued 2019 season.
Jack played in the Swans’ 2012 premiership and was elevated to be the club’s co-captain a year later, leading the side to two more grand finals alongside Jarrad McVeigh.
The 32-year-old played his 250th game in Round 5 to cap off a career that featured All-Australian selection in 2013 and a Bob Skilton Medal in just his fourth season.
“Kieren Jack’s story as a trailblazer for the code in this state cannot be underestimated," Swans coach John Longmire said.
"It would be reasonable to say that Kieren’s journey has done as much for the code’s development over the past 14 years as any person."
Jack is the fourth premiership player to retire this year, alongside McVeigh, Heath Grundy and Nick Smith.
The Swans conclude their season against St Kilda at the SCG on Saturday.
