Melbourne veteran Jordan Lewis has called time on his decorated AFL career.

Lewis will play his 319th and final game when the Demons face North Melbourne at Blundstone Arena on Saturday.

The 33-year-old won four premierships with the Hawks in 2008, 2013, 2014 and 2015 and is a one-time All-Australian and best and fairest winner.

Taken with pick No.7 in the 2004 draft, he played 264 games in the brown and gold before ending his career with the Dees.

“The journey has been a good one – it’s been a long one,” Lewis told melbournefc.com.au.

“It’s been a lot longer than probably I would have imagined, and maybe people who drafted me would’ve imagined, and my parents would’ve imagined.

“But it’s been an unbelievable one."

Lewis has played 54 matches in the red and blue since arriving at the end of 2016.

“I saw that this club was really on the incline and it was something that I wanted to be a part of, and something that I thought I could add a bit of leadership and understanding and experience,” he added.

“Finishing up my third year it feels like I’ve been here for a long period of time to be honest.

“You guys have made it really, really enjoyable.”

Injuries limited Lewis to just 11 games in 2019 but he will be forever rembered for his exploits in Hawthorn's golden era.
