Report: Geelong star officially meets with WA clubs

2019-08-20T15:30+10:00

Fremantle and West Coast have reportedly met with out of contract Geelong midfielder Tim Kelly.

AFL Media is reporting that Kelly, who requested a trade home to Western Australia last year, has met with both clubs ahead of the upcoming trade period.

The 25-year-old specifically wished to be traded to the Eagles last year, but meeting with the Dockers suggests he could be open to joining either team.

The report suggests Kelly met with Fremantle head of footy Peter Bell.

This news comes on the same day the Dockers parted with coach Ross Lyon. It’s unclear how that would impact his decision making.

Kelly has averaged 24 disposals, five clearances and four inside 50s per game in 2019 and is one of the favourites for the Brownlow Medal.
