Carlton “growing more confident by the day” with Coniglio

2019-08-22T07:05+10:00

Carlton is growing increasingly confident of landing Stephen Coniglio this trade period.

That is according to SEN Time On host Sam McClure who suggests the Blues could be a major figure when the annual player movement season begins.

Sydney’s Tom Papley and Gold Coast’s Jack Martin continue to be heavily linked with the navy blue but those potential deals are unlikely to gain any traction until all possibilities with GWS star midfielder Coniglio are exhausted.

“Will the Swans back themselves to get a first-round draft pick back if Carlton so desire Tom Papley?” McClure asked on Time On.

“The Blues can’t work on any more deals, like the one they have for Gold Coast’s Jack Martin, until they hear from Stephen Coniglio.

“I wonder if anyone has heard from 'Cogs', by the way?

“Carlton are growing more confident by the day. That’s the only news I can bring you there.”

Coniglio, 25, is out of contract with the Giants at the end of this season and is the subject of a reported big-money offer from the Blues.
