SEN’s Time On host Sam McClure says Sydney will be "major players" during the upcoming trade period.
Premiership stalwarts such as Heath Grundy, Nick Smith, Jarrad McVeigh and Kieren Jack all decided to hang up the boots as the Swans look to further rejuvenate their list.
McClure pondered whether their first-round pick will be used in a potential deal to lure Joe Daniher away from Essendon, maintaining Sydney’s interest in the All-Australian forward is real.
“Sydney will be major players in the trade period, that you can take to the bank,” he told SEN’s Time On.
“Their first pick, currently pick No.4, is up for grabs. Will they throw it at Essendon in an attempt to land Joe Daniher?
“Don’t you worry, they still want him.”
Daniher was recently spotted meeting Swans CEO Tom Harley but the pair denied that talks of a trade were discussed.
Sydney finish their home-and-away campaign against St Kilda at the SCG on Saturday.
