Paddy Ryder will depart Port Adelaide and seek a trade back to Victoria, according to the Herald Sun.
It’s understood St Kilda and former club Essendon are vying for his signature with the Saints able to offer the 31-year-old better terms on proposed two-year offers.
Port are only willing to offer Ryder a one-year deal prompting his decision to leave Alberton and continue his 243-game career elsewhere.
SEN Drive host Andy Maher revealed St Kilda are the favourites to land Ryder to provide much-needed support for the emerging Rowan Marshall.
Ryder averaged 22 hit-outs and 10 disposals from his 17 matches in 2019.
