According to the Herald Sun, North Melbourne has made a move to keep gun midfielder Shaun Higgins at Arden Street for life.
Higgins, 32, is already contracted for 2020 but was reportedly seeking more security.
The Kangaroos have reportedly offered him a one-year extension, which could see finish his career at the club.
Higgins’ name has been linked to Geelong, who could lose a star midfielder of their own in Tim Kelly.
But the Roos’ revised deal means Higgins would be almost certain to stay at North.
Higgins has played 220 AFL games for the Western Bulldogs and the Kangaroos.
He has won two Syd Barker Medals in 2017 and 2018 during his 91 games at his second club.
