Port "shut down" Wines trade talk

2019-09-06T15:22+10:00

Port Adelaide football boss Chris Davies has denied all reports that captain Ollie Wines is on the trade table.

Rumours have swirled surrounding the midfielders availability come October, with the likes of Kane Cornes and Matthew Lloyd suggesting they should consider putting him on the trade block.

However, Davies told the Herald Sun that Wines is going nowhere.

“Ollie isn’t asking for any of this to be spoken about, he hasn’t suggested he wants to go anywhere, we don’t want him to go anywhere. It isn’t anything anyone is considering so it should be shut down,” Davies said.

Wines is contracted with the Power through to the end of 2022.

Sam Gray (Carlton and St Kilda) and Paddy Ryder (St Kilda and Essendon) remain likely to leave Alberton.
