Richmond spearhead Jack Riewoldt has expressed his surprise with the AFL Tribunal’s verdict on Toby Greene.
The Giants midfielder was fined for serious misconduct for an incident against Marcus Bontempelli.
The Bulldogs midfielder finished the game with scratches on his face and a bruise under his eye and Greene was handed a $7500 fine.
"I thought he would have got a week. That was my gut feel. But you want to see the good players playing," Riewoldt told AFL 360.
"He was going to get charged for pulling Bontempelli’s hair from the precedent that Naitanui and Zach Merrett got," he said.
"So he was going to get something at least."
Greene is free to play for the Giants this weekend in their do or die Semi Final clash with Brisbane.
