Report: Lions table offer to talented Sun

2019-09-18T15:09+10:00

Brisbane is reportedly interesting in acquiring Gold Coast’s Callum Ah Chee.

According to AFL.com.au’s Mitch Cleary, the Lions have tabled Ah Chee a long-term deal after he requested a trade from the Suns.

An ankle injury restricted the off-contract 21-year-old to just one game in 2019 and has played predominantly across half-back in his four years on the Coast.

Ah Chee has played 45 games since taken with pick No.8 in the 2015 AFL Draft.

Brisbane CEO Greg Swann confirmed they have ample cap space to be active once again in the upcoming trade period.

The Lions jumped from 15th to second thanks to the club’s successful recruitment drive that yielded the likes of Lachie Neale, Lincoln McCarthy, Marcus Adams and Jarryd Lyons.

Chris Fagan’s side were eliminated from the 2019 finals series in straight sets.
