Cyril Rioli will suit up for the Bombers in 2020 … the Tiwi Bombers.
The four-time premiership Hawk spent 2019 as an assistant coach with them in the Northern Territory Football League.
Gilbert McAdam dropped the news on SEN’s Bob and Andy.
“I’ll give you a bit of a scoop, Cyril Rioli is playing,” he said.
“For the Tiwi Bombers (next season).
“I’m going to Darwin next week for the launch of it.
“I’ll give Cyril a ring tonight when I’m sitting down watching footy and I’ll say brother are you going to play the first game with the Tiwi Bombers?
“Imagine those blokes who are going to play on him and imagine the blokes who are playing with him.
“That’s why I’m so glad he’s playing, he can make a massive difference to peoples’ lives.”
Rioli’s grandfather Cyril Kalippa was an inaugural member of the Tiwi Bombers’ board.
The 30-year-old stunned the footy world, announcing his retirement at the end of 2018 after 189 games with Hawthorn.
