Broad believes he'll be fine following Prelim concussion

2019-09-21T14:29+10:00

Richmond is through to the 2019 AFL Grand Final following their win over Geelong, but will have some selection decisions to make throughout the week.

Midfielder Jack Graham is likely to be ruled out after dislocating his shoulder in the first half.

He bravely played out the game, but appears to be a long shot for next Saturday.

Jack Ross is the like-for-like swap for Graham, while Sydney Stack will return for the Tigers in the VFL tomorrow and could push his case if he proves his fitness.

Nathan Broad is the other issue and was ruled out with a concussion suffered in the second half.

However, Dermott Brereton spoke to the Richmond defender in the rooms after the game and said Broad is confident of his availability for the Grand Final.

“I got to speak to him after the game and said how are you feeling? He looked at me and said ‘yeah I had to come off, but I’m feeling fine, I can’t see any real problems’,” Brereton told SEN’s Crunch Time.

“He was very together and with it. I think if you were looking at playing tomorrow, I think he’d put his hand up.

“So I think the extra day, looking at an eight-day break, I think he’ll be fine.”

If Broad is unavailable, his replacement may depend on whether they’re facing GWS or Collingwood.

The Giants boast a tall forward line, which could see the Tigers go to another key defender like Ryan Garthwaite, otherwise they may have to roll the dice with Stack or turn to someone like Kamdyn McIntosh.
