Edmund’s trade update on Ellis, Greenwood, Crouch, Frampton, Elliott

2019-09-24T08:05+10:00

Herald Sun journalist and SEN Breakfast’s own Sam Edmund has provided trade updates on several players linked to moves in the upcoming trade period.

Brandon Ellis (Richmond)

"He’s eligible for free agency, restricted mind you, so Richmond can match the offer.

"That’s not going to happen because it’s a pretty big one – about five years at about $600,000 a season for him to up there."

Hugh Greenwood (Adelaide)

"The Suns are very confident of landing Hugh Greenwood from Adelaide as well.

"Greenwood hasn’t made a decision yet … he’s chasing that four-year deal from the Crows or at least three with a trigger, so he’s waiting to hear back from them on whether that will be accepted.

"He has met with Hawthorn, Brisbane and Gold Coast. The Suns really think if the Crows deal falls over, they’re absolutely in the box seat to get him as well."

Brad Crouch (Adelaide)

"(Brad) Crouch is chasing a five-year deal at the Crows.

"If Crouch or Cam Ellis-Yolman leave the Crows I think (Hugh) Greenwood stays. If they don’t, I think Greenwood goes."

Billy Frampton (Port Adelaide)

"News out of Adelaide as well that the Crows are chasing Port Adelaide youngster Billy Frampton to replace the departing Sam Jacobs."

Jamie Elliott (Collingwood)

"We know that Melbourne have come in for him somewhat. Some Whispers around North Melbourne (being interested in Elliott).

"Have not been confirmed to a point where we would say they are well down the path of negotiations … but just watch this space."
