Gerard Whateley has gone through a lengthy process to determine who he believes will receive the most Brownlow votes from 10 different clubs, putting together his annual multi.
According to Sportsbet’s current odds, Whateley’s seven-leg version pays $6.51, while his more ambitious 10-legger comes in at $61.27.
“I’m not much of a punter, we don’t do any betting on this show with this exception, Brownlow morning,” he told SEN’s Whateley.
“Here’s my methodology refined over a few years. It’s a collection of votes. There’s no opinion in this, this is just straight analysis of the way votes have been cast.
“The AFL Nation votes, Herald Sun, the AFL Coaches Association adjusted to just collect the top three players so there’s decimal points involved there.
“Last year I found a fellow traveller in Matt who has sent me analytics and he has a very good record. We married up our records over a few years. So he runs analytics throughout the year and has formed them into a votes equation.
“Then some friends elsewhere send their votes through as well.”
