It’s looking as if Essendon will lose two of their most important forwards in the upcoming trade period in Orazio Fantasia and Joe Daniher.
Former Bombers defender Brendon Goddard believes that the side should drive a hard bargain when it comes to dealing away their two stars.
“If I’m Essendon, I’m going to Port Adelaide and saying, ‘right if Orazio nominates you, when that happens, I want Ollie Wines',” Goddard said on 7mate's The Trade Game.
“So that fills a void for Essendon although essentially you’re losing something out of the forward line.
“Worst case scenario; Joe Daniher goes, I’m saying I want two first round picks.
“There’s history of players; Dylan Shiel last year, two first rounders; Sydney now as we know got pick five and then potentially pick nine with the Carlton-Papley deal going down.”
While neither Fantasia nor Daniher have formally requested to leave the Bombers, reports suggest that both are looking for a fresh start elsewhere.
