Fantasia to nominate Power as preference with Crows to enter race

2019-10-08T07:38+11:00

Essendon forward Orazio Fantasia will announce a preference to join Port Adelaide once he decides on a new manager, according to Seven AFL reporter Tom Browne.

Fantasia recently parted ways with former manager Anthony McConville, sparking speculation he would be seeking a return to South Australia.

Power footy boss Chris Davies confirmed the club’s interest in the 24-year-old who is contracted at the Bombers until the end of 2021.

Browne indicated that Adelaide will enter the race for Fantasia’s services.

“He still hasn’t formally appointed a new manager which is the delay on announcing that he wants to go to Port Adelaide,” Browne told Channel Seven’s The Trade Game.

“I think he will formally announce that manager post-surgery on Wednesday or Thursday. I expect that he will nominate a preference to return to Port Adelaide, but don’t discount the Crows.

“I think later this week, I’d expect the Crows to enter the frame as well.”

AFL.com.au reported in July that Fantasia had notified Essendon that he would like to return to South Australia at some stage in his career.

Fantasia has kicked booted 110 goals in 75 games since debuting in the red and black in 2014.
