Eddie Betts’ return to Carlton is reportedly a foregone conclusion.
According to the Herald Sun, Betts will depart Adelaide and re-join the Blues on a one-year deal worth $400,000.
It’s understood the Crows will receive pick No.47 in return but will pay a portion of Betts’ wage.
The 32-year-old small forward is contracted at West Lakes for 2020 on a reported salary of $600,000 per year.
Betts kicked 37 goals in 2019 but found himself briefly out of the side at the end of the season.
He joined the Crows at the end of 2013 after nine years at Ikon Park. Betts is a three-time All-Australian and has booted 600 goals in 316 games.
Carlton is also trying to negotiate deals for Sydney’s Tom Papley and Gold Coast’s Jack Martin.
