Report: In-demand Power swingman requests trade to Victorian club

2019-10-09T18:13+11:00

Port Adelaide swingman Dougal Howard has reportedly requested a trade to St Kilda.

According to AFL.com.au, Howard recently met with Essendon and North Melbourne but it’s the Saints he wants to play for in 2020 and beyond.

The 23-year-old signed a three-year contract with the Power last December but has decided he wants out due to a disagreement over his preferred position.

Co-captain Tom Jonas and Tom Clurey were Port’s two key defenders throughout 2019.

Howard has played 45 games since he was taken with pick No.56 in the 2014 AFL Draft.

Fremantle’s Brad Hill, Port Adelaide’s Paddy Ryder and Sydney’s Zak Jones have all requested trades to Moorabbin.
