Report: Pie told to find a new home as salary cap squeeze hits

2019-10-14T07:00+11:00

Collingwood is facing a salary cap squeeze, with star players Brodie Grundy, Jordan de Goey and Darcy Moore all coming out of contract in 2020.

Because of this, there have been reports that Pies players could be available in the trade period, to help the club alleviate that.

The Age is reporting that defender James Aish has been placed on the trade table for just this reason.

The report suggests Aish has been told to look for a new home by the club.

He is contracted with Collingwood for the 2020 season, along with midfielder Rupert Wills, who is in a similar boat to Aish.

Mason Cox and Matt Scharenberg are the other Pies who have been linked to moves.

Collingwood re-signed mid-season pick-up John Noble and midfielder Brayden Sier during the week.

Aish played 14 games in 2019, averaging 16.5 disposals and 4.4 marks per match.
