Dan Butler will be a St Kilda footballer next season after the Saints reached a deal with Richmond for the small forward.
The trade sees the Tigers acquire pick No.56 as compensation.
Butler found himself struggling to crack Richmond's best 22 in 2019, managing just seven senior games.
The 23-year-old was part of the Tigers 2017 premiership and played a pivotal role in the 2019 VFL premiership win.
He was recruited by the Tigers in the fourth round of the 2014 AFL Draft with pick 67 and has managed played 45 games.
