Salary cap squeeze sees Magpie join Dockers

2019-10-16T19:44+11:00

James Aish has joined Fremantle after being squeezed out by Collingwood due to salary cap concerns.

Aish requested a trade to the Dockers as the Magpies look to free up salary cap space to re-sign the likes of Brodie Grundy, Jordan de Goey and Darcy Moore.

The star trio all come out of contract next year.

Aish, 23, will continue his career at a third club having played 82 games for both the Pies and Brisbane.

A former first-round pick in the 2013 draft, the utility is Fremantle’s second signing of the trade period after Blake Acres' arrival earlier today.
