North Melbourne made a late splash on deadline day of the trade period, adding fringe GWS midfielder Aiden Bonar.
Bonar, a former first-round selection, joined the Kangaroos to seek greater opportunities at AFL level having played six games in two years at the Giants.
Giving up just a future third-round pick for the 20-year-old, Brownlow Medallist Gerard Healy believes North have got themselves a bargain.
“He (Bonar) was a first-rounder some years ago,” Healy told Sportsday.
“I thought those who marked North Melbourne down simply for missing out on somebody but not throwing away a draft pick on potentially somebody else, have underrated how good this kid Bonar could be.
“I’ve seen him play some pretty good football for the Giants and I think the Kangaroos have picked him up basically for bugger all … and have got themselves another young kid to bolster that midfield.”
Bonar, who was taken with pick No.11 in the 2017 draft, played just two senior games last year.
