Greyhound industry launches new television series: Thrill Of The Chase

2019-10-31T08:40+11:00

A new television series taking viewers inside the world of greyhound racing in Australia – Thrill Of The Chase launches this Sunday on 7mate.

The exciting new five-part series, in collaboration with Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV), South Australia and Western Australia, aims to educate and celebrate the industry in Australia and will profile the sport’s brightest stars.

Thrill Of The Chase will take viewers behind the scenes into the most successful kennels to meet dedicated breeders and athletes from around the country.

The program will showcase the greyhound as the athlete and, as such, a selection of Australia’s best former champions will join the panel, accompanied by GRV’s Molly Haines, across the series.

Hosting Thrill Of The Chase will be SEN’s multi-sport expert Jack Heverin alongside greyhound aficionado Liz Whelan who brings a wealth of knowledge to the panel. Young race caller on-the-rise and greyhound trainer James Van de Maat will also join the panel.

Both Whelan and Van de Maat previously hosted coverage of the richest race in the industry at Wentworth Park – the 2019 TAB Million Dollar Chase.

For the first time ever on national television, Thrill Of The Chase will exclusively feature the National Greyhound Draft live on November 17.

GRV General Manager of Strategic Communication and Marketing Louise Martin was excited to bring specialised greyhound content to fans.

“The racing industry in Australia is booming and what better way to shine a light on some of the country’s most gifted four-legged athletes than to dedicate an hour each week analysing and predicting their form.

“Thrill Of The Chase is equally about the passionate racing fan as it is about the casual punter. Viewers will be treated to form guides and race previews and we will shine a light on the best greyhounds from around the nation,” Martin said.
