Western Bulldogs forward Josh Schache has signed a contract extension at Whitten Oval.
The former number two pick in the 2015 National Draft was already locked in until the end of 2020, but has extended his deal until 2022.
The 22-year-old booted 24 goals from 14 games in 2019, but how his role changes will be interesting, given the acquisition of Josh Bruce from St Kilda and the breakout of Aaron Naughton.
The youngster said re-signing with the club was a no-brainer for him.
“I’ve loved my time at the Bulldogs over the last two years and had no hesitation in wanting to extend my contract with the Club,” Schache told the club’s website.
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working on my game and trying to make an impact for the team, and I look forward to continuing my development over the next few years.
“We have a talented young group, and I’m excited about what we might be able to achieve together in the future.”
Schache has played 54 career games including 27 for Brisbane before requesting a trade to the Bulldogs after the 2017 season.
