AFL Match Review Officer Michael Christian will remain in the role in 2020.
However, in a tweak to the role, football operations boss Steve Hocking will work “in conjunction” with Christian in the review of each game.
The Tribunal will also now fall under the watch of head of legal Andrew Dillon, allowing Hocking to focus on the MRO and creating greater separation between the two bodies.
Only 28 matches were lost through suspension in 2019, compared to 65 in 2018.
Of course several players, including Ben Cunnington, Marcus Bontempelli, Toby Greene and Gary Ablett, got away with infractions that caused controversy throughout the season.
